Local councillors are to hold a meeting with headteachers in Tenby and Pembrokeshire County Council’s senior traffic engineer to try to find a solution to parking problems along the route of three of the town’s schools.

Members of Tenby town council recently said that a meeting with representatives of PCC last month to discuss areas of the town where parking issues have been prominent proved positive, with concerns over dangerous parking in and around Tudor Way and its junction with Heywood Lane, near Serpentine Road, during school drop-off and pick-up times highlighted once again.

At the meeting, PCC’s senior traffic engineer Ben Blake said that the situation was ‘chaotic’ around the schools at times and he was prepared to look at a number of possible ideas, which could protect access for residents and encourage sensible parking without the need for a great number of restrictions being introduced.

At Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council, the town clerk Andrew Davies said that a date had now been fixed for a meeting between head teachers, PCC representatives and town councillors for 10 am on Thursday, March 26 at Tenby Church in Wales VC Primary School.
