A site meeting is to to take place at a housing estate in Tenby where ‘irresponsible’ parking has caused residents to be blocked in.
The matter of a lack of spaces at Newell Hill, which has caused concerns for residents, was recently raised at a meeting of the town council, where it was pointed out that at various points of the day and night, there was no way out of the street due to people parking irresponsibly.
Speaking on the matter at Tuesday night’s meeting, the town clerk, Andrew Davies, told members that Pembrokeshire County Council’s head of highways and construction, Darren Thomas, had got back to him, after it had been suggested that a play area on the street ould possibly be converted to allow for extra parking spaces.
“Mr. Thomas has informed me that there is a covenant on the land in that it should only be used as a play area for children, so such a suggestion could be open to a legal challenge,” explained Mr. Davies.
Clr. Mike Evans told members that he had a arranged to hold a site meeting at Newell Hill with PCC officers to look further at what can be achieved at the area.
