Manorbier’s fourteen-year-old wheelchair-whizz Lily Rice has added another ‘silver lining’ to her sporting exploits after claiming second place at the World WCMX Championships in California.

Lily who has been hitting the headlines after becoming the first female in Europe to achieve a back flip in the sport of ‘wheelchair motorcross’ and starring in the video for former McFly singer Tom Fletcher’s Christmas single, claimed a silver medal at the championships.

A Year 9 pupil at Tenby’s Greenhill School, Lily the only UK representative at the contest, fell just short of a gold coming two points behind the winner Alyssa Montenegro.
