Scammers are operating in Pembrokeshire, according to West Wales housing group ateb.
Posting on Twitter earlier today, they said:
“We had reports of scammers in Johnston yesterday pretending to be BT, with an official-looking ID.
“They are asking customers to open Google to check their broadband speed, so when this happens, they can steal the data from the phone.”
Pembrokeshire County Council, on their website, advise:
- Never let anyone in your house unless they are someone you know and trust.
- If you are the victim of a scam it is important to seek support. Speak to someone you trust. Never stay silent.
