A fantastic morning for 20 Strollers this week was enjoyed in lovely weather conditions: seal cub spotting at the Deer Park at St. Martins Headland, then three mile coastal path walk back to Marloes:
Lots of seals and their babies were spotted, but it was quite upsetting to watch one very young seal cub get washed up into the sea by a very large breaker: Hopefully it was strong enough to get back onto the beach:
Two seals also kept the group entertained when they staged a play fight lasting a good five minutes, starting on the beach and ending up with them both frolicking in the fairly rough sea.
A murmuration of birds, very large moth (awaiting identification) Kestrels, Buzzards, Choughs, various Fungi, Centipedes (rescued from the footpath), and the Irish Ferry were all spotted during the walk:
The ‘cherry on the cake’ was having refreshments at Runwayskiln Café, which was formerly Marloes Youth Hostel: A superb spot with amazing views and really tasty food: definitely a return visit for the Strollers!
