Fifteen Saundersfoot Strollers met up in Felindre Farchog this week to walk up to Pentre Ifan, one of the finest prehistoric burial chambers in Wales, also offering superb views of Carningli and Cardigan Bay.
The route took the Strollers through the ancient woodlands of the Nyfer Valley and the magical Tycanol Nature Reserve where the heavens chose to open its doors and deposit very heavy rain on the group!
The Strollers carried on regardless to Pentre Ifan where picnics were consumed very quickly before the heavens opened yet again causing the group to take shelter wherever they could!
The route back to the village took the Strollers along a very muddy path again through ancient woodlands; only to find the pub closed when we got back to the village. Again undeterred, the Strollers then made their way to the Tafarn Zinc pub in Rosebush for a well-earned drink.
This really is a fantastic walk and one to be repeated on a fine day, especially at bluebell time when the nature reserve is a carpet of blue.
