Saundersfoot is a very popular seaside resort. With a population of around 3,500 inhabitants, there are about 35 organisations in the village, all working together for the benefit of Saundersfoot.
A classic example of this is the annual Flower Festival held each year in St. Issell’s Church. This is organised by Saundersfoot in Bloom. This year it will be held from August 7 - 11, opening hours 10 am - 6 pm.
With 31 organisations taking part, it will be well worth making a visit to the lovely church of St. Issell’s and enjoying the beautiful arrangements.
The garden competition will be held again this year and judging will take place on July 18. The judges, Duncan Hilling, Keith Williams, Bryan Harries and Alwyn James, will have a difficult task in deciding the winners.
As you can see by the photographs of last year’s winners, there are some beautiful gardens around the village.
The schoolchildren have taken part in the poster competition which is held each year to promote the flower festival. Again the judges had a difficult task deciding the winners.
The prizes were presented by the chairman of Saundersfoot in Bloom, Mr. Keith Williams, at a ceremony held at Saundersfoot School. Grateful thanks to all of the children who took part and to the head teacher and staff.
