Anyone who knows local postman, Chris Williams, will know he’s always up to something - usually something that involves raising money for charity through some scheme or another!

Chris noticed that whilst walking around Saundersfoot that a lot of the benches, bollards and bins along the pavements were looking rather shabby.

’Let’s paint the village blue!’ was the call from many, so with a little help from the Saundersfoot Connect group on Facebook, soon the word was out to help spruce the village up; and within 24 hours a volunteer task force was assembled of over 50 local residents who, armed with sandpaper, paint and brushes, under the guidance of local decorators Dean Ludlow and Michael Boddington are set to paint the village blue!

Local County Councillor, Phil Baker, had already been in discussions with Chris about this – offering to find some funds for the materials and paint required.

A quick phone call to local marketing and events business, Team SaraH and the scheme was launched!

So, if you’re handy with a brush and a tin of paint, and would be interested in donating a few hours to this initiative, please email Team SaraH at [email protected].

It’s sure to be a lot of fun along the way. So look out for them all next month as they work their way around the village centre carrying out mini makeovers on a hundred or so bins, bollards and benches to restore them to their former glory!
