A special event was held in Pembroke Dock over the weekend to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Royal Dockyard's foundation.

A parade of sail and items to commemorate how the dockyard came to Pembroke Dock were enjoyed by a wealth of spectators at the event, which was organised by the local Bicentenary Group.

"We were lucky to have a fine summer's evening to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Royal Dockyard's foundation," said Bicentenary Group co-ordinator Martin Cavaney.

"Thanks to all who helped with the event, especially the audience who showed their appreciation by staying until the very end.

"We look forward to next year's Bicentenary and to many more successful events," he added.
