After some 50 years of fundraising, it is with great sadness that RNLI Narberth Branch has been disbanded.

The branch has stated that it has become difficult to recruit new committee members who are prepared to commit their time to serve this worthwhile cause.

Narberth RNLI Branch was formed some 50 years ago by Mrs. Marion?Lewis, together with Eluned and John?Lloyd, of Llain, Login.

The committee organised Fork Suppers at the Queen’s Hall, prepared by the members, namely: Mrs. Marion Lewis, Mollie Evans, Kathleen Phillips, Ray Badham, Ann Thomas, Janet Thomas, Elizabeth Morris and Barbara Wilson. They also organised annual lunches at the Plas Hyfryd Hotel, kindly assisted by Mrs. Maria Grimwood.

Prominent members of the committee and chairmen in the early years were: Mrs. Wyn Jones, Mrs. Janet Thomas, Mrs. Marion?Lewis, Mr. Brynmor Evans, Mr. John Morris, Mr.?David Gibbs, Mr. Graham Searle, Mr. John?Davies, treasurer for many years, assisted by his wife Sue Davies.

In the last few years, Mr. John Mathias has been very active in helping Julie with the fundraising events such as the annual lunches at the Plas Hyfryd and the quizzes with Bill Carne at the Rugby Club. Also the mid-summer cruises out of Tenby Harbour.

Chair Julie Mathias would like to thank everyone for their fantastic support over the many years in raising thousands of pounds for the RNLI.
