Coastal Cottages of Pembrokeshire were showing their love for the county during Random Acts of Kindness Week 2017.

Lots of ideas were suggested, and the overall drive was to cover three elements to give a bit back to the community, their guests and Pembrokeshire itself.

A few of the team headed to Newgale to carry out a beach clean, and within a couple of hours had filled several bin bags of plastic that had washed up onto the pebbles. Weather wise it was a pretty dreary day, they persevered and said that they were enthused by all the people walking on the beach who took the time to thank them or offer to carry bags back. By the time they finished they were windswept and happy.

To direct acts of random kindness to the community, coffee shops around the county were giving cards out with a tea or coffee compliments of Coastal Cottages, with the aim of bringing a smile to people’s faces. You might have received one of their cards at Caffi Llew or the Qube in Tenby, Lillies in Narberth and Oriel Y Parc in St Davids.

Lastly, as an act of kindness to their guests, they randomly selected a few people and called them to let them know that their 2017 holiday was going to be paid for by Coastal Cottages!

Sarah Mullis said: “It was a really great week and we enjoyed giving a bit back to the people and place that keep us going. It’s also inspired us to carry on with regular beach cleans even if it’s just for an hour, every bin bag is that much less plastic than was there before!”
