Members and their partners enjoyed a social evening last Friday at Wiseman’s Bridge Inn, enjoying a delicious meal while paying tribute to those who give of their time freely in order to make the choir a success (writes R.A.).

Our musical director Mark Thompson has made a massive difference both on practice nights and in live performances. The feedback since he took the choir under his wing is immeasurable. Chairman, Ray Hughes, thanked him for his commitment, freely given and his determination in morphing us into one of the best choirs in Pembrokeshire.

Eileen Thomas, our talented pianist, was given a gift of beautiful cyclamen plants for her continued support and thanked for her loyal, dedicated service to the choir.

Caroline Llewelyn, our secretary, who works so hard behind the scenes arranging concert dates and performing other vital roles, was presented with a beautiful flower arrangement prepared by Margaret Richards, one of our sopranos. Caroline was praised for the quiet way she always conducts business on behalf of the choir, work that sometimes goes unnoticed, but not by the committee.

Deputy musical director, Elvina Griffiths gave a vote of thanks to the chairman who has fulfilled his role diligently for a number of years.

At this stage, Rene Silcox, one of our faithful sopranos, sang a tribute to Mark’s teachings. proving that she has, at least, and evident by the applause, so have we all, digested all the changes prompted by Mark in order to improve our choral singing!

Many thanks to Wiseman’s Bridge Inn for accommodating us all in their decorous dining room, the delicious food and the quiet way we were served by the attentive staff.

A very successful evening enjoyed by members and more importantly their partners who support the choir, faithfully, from behind the scenes.
