Next week’s cabinet meeting will feature the last six months spending on contracts in Pembrokeshire – all over £50,000 each – including a massive £3.5million on improving council house kitchens.
Also on the agenda for the meeting at County Hall on May 21 is the disposal and acquisition of buildings in the last six months as well as the latest capital receipts programme.
The largest contract awarded is worth £1,750,000 a year will see R & M Williams Ltd Design supply and install kitchens for council housing stock. It was awarded on April 12 this year and will run until April 2020.
It’s overall worth is £3,500,000.
The design and installation or replacement of heating systems for council housing stock will also be done over the next three years at a cost of £1,750,000.
A contract to provided support living services until 2023 was signed off in December last year. The cost totalling £652,612 is part funded by the health board.
Pembrokeshire County Council has a contract to supply bread and bakery products costing £50,000 from September 2017 to August 2019 while meat will cost half a million.
Two welfare minibuses, costing £64,000, were among a number of vehicles bought by the council along with a seven-seater car for £13,953.
‘Media buying services’ will cost £443,240 for a year and the demolition of the old Johnston school cost £84,000.
The report to cabinet shows that the council now owns Allied House, Swan Square, Haverfordwest, spending £275,000 on the property.
It has sold off both the former registry office in Haverfordwest for £164,000 and Land to the West of Penwallis, Fishguard. Wales and West Housing Association has bought this for £192,000.
