A new meeting date has been set for Pembrokeshire County Council’s Planning Committee, after the July 27 meeting had to be abandoned due to a technical fault.

The issue, which has been linked to the video conferencing platform’s server, meant that many, but not all, of the meeting’s contributors were unable to hear some others speaking.

No decision had been reached on any planning application when the meeting was terminated.

The same agenda, featuring eight planning applications, will now be presented to a rescheduled meeting on Thursday, 5th August.

Planning Committee Chairman, Clr. Jacob Williams, said: “Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of committee services staff and IT technicians, and two restarts which failed to eradicate the gremlins, Tuesday’s meeting had to be abandoned and rescheduled.

“This of course causes much disruption to councillors, officers and public speakers, but in the circumstances I’m sorry to say that there really was no other option.

“I’m hopeful that the issue can be fixed well before councillors reconvene on Thursday, August 5, when we will consider the meeting’s agenda from scratch.”
