Councillors in Tenby have said that they are ‘frustrated’ that Pembrokeshire County Council have not updated them on the proposed Brynhir development.
Discussions where members of the town council were due to meet with representatives from Pembrokeshire County Council, Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority, and prospective developers, were recently put on hold and have yet to be rescheduled, while the town clerk told members before the summer that he had heard from the county council’s head of property, Barry Cooke, on the matter, who had said that PCC had taken a decision on a preferred bidder, but until solicitors were instructed, then they were reluctant to hold a meeting on any updates just yet.
Speaking at Tuesday nights meeting of the town council, Clr. Mike Evans told his fellow members that he was just as ‘frustrated’ as them with the lack of news coming from the county council on the Brynhir development.
“I’m embarrassed that PCC have not provided an update, when I have asked daily for updates,” he said, stating that his fellow Tenby county councillor Michael Williams had too not received a response on the matter.
“It’s frustrating and not very professional,” he added.
Clr. Mrs. Tish Rossiter asked for the item to be kept on the agenda. “The town wants to know what is going on!’” she remarked.
The Mayor, Clr. Laurence Blackhall said that it would be worthwhile writing directly to the Authority’s chief executive is Ian Westley letting him know that the town council were concerned that they had not heard anything.
