Councillors in Tenby have refused an application to turn residential accommodation into a holiday let.
Plans submitted by Mr. P. Robinson and Mrs. T. Finnegan, for a change of use to holiday let of ancillary residential accommodation, at Sea Haze on Heywood Lane, were recommended for refusal by members of Tenby town council when they discussed the proposals at their meeting on Tuesday night.
Clr. Mrs. Sam Skyrme-Blackhall pointed out to her colleagues that the premises already had a sign on the road advertising it as a Bed and Breakfast.
“Again this goes back to retrospective planning issues, it’s panning by stealth,” Clr. Mrs. Tish Rossiter remarked.
“We see applicants keep playing this game, it’s salami planning, slice by slice, where they put in planning for something, and then add something slightly different, until they get what they want,” agreed Clr. Laurence Blackhall.
“We recommended refusal for part of their previous application, and I don’t think we should change our view on those grounds,” he added.
Councillors agreed to refuse the application, with their recommendations being passed on to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority.
