Pembrokeshire County Council has been working with Wales and West Utilities to minimise traffic disruption ahead of road works in Pembroke.
Next month, the council is due to start work on a new footway, running south from opposite The Green housing estate junction with Bush Hill to near The Cornstore.
Around the same time, Wales and the West Utilities will be installing a gas replacement scheme across Pembroke's Mill Bridge.
Work on the footway begins on Saturday, March 31, and for that day and the following day (Sunday, April 1) three-way traffic lights will be in operation.
From Monday, April 2, two-way lights will be in operation for just over three weeks. They will be under the control of Wales and the West Utilities as they begin work on the Mill Bridge gas scheme.
Pembrokeshire County Council's deputy leader and cabinet member for highways and planning, Clr. Jamie Adams, apologised for the disruption to motorists.
He went on: "However, the council's collaborative working and forward planning with Wales and the West Utilities means that we have reduced the need for traffic lights at this location for 10 days less that otherwise would have been required."
