Members and friends of the Pembrokeshire Fundraising Branch of Guide Dogs Cymru have been congratluated on their magnificent fundraising efforts over the past year.
Thirty-five members and friends of the Pembrokeshire Fundraising Branch of Guide Dogs Cymru enjoyed a delicious lunch at Tudor Lodge, Jameston, last week, where they were congratulated by Head of Mobility Services for Guide Dogs Cymru, Jonathan Mudd on their excellent total raised in 2017 of £21,548.
As well as the thirty-five humans, eleven dogs were present, eight working guide dogs and three retired ones.
Pembrokeshire Branch members were also delighted to welcome Marcus Roberts (Guide Dog Mobility Instructor), Cathryn George, (Orientation and Mobility Specialist), and Tracy Martin-Smith (Senior Sensory Officer Pembrokeshire County Council), together with founder members of the Pembrokeshire Branch, Connie King, Anne Lillycrop and Eva Rich.
Jonathan wished everyone a successful 2018 and also gave some information on the progress being made with the training of guide dogs and their owners in Wales, with the hope that waiting times would be reduced.
Branch secretary, Eva Rich, thanked everyone for their continued support and help with the various fundraising events, with special thanks to the Guide Dog Cymru officials for attending.
Several of the dogs were delighted to see their trainer, Marcus, and special thanks must also go to Mandy and her staff at Tudor Lodge for an excellent meal and with the hope that there wasn’t too much dog hair to clean up after the eleven well behaved guide dogs.
Pictured in the photograph with those in attendence are working guide dogs - Morgan, Blakey, Tarka, Ziggy, Uri, Ruby and Oyster, and the three retired dogs Frosti, Emily and Maisie.
