The A487 at Newgale has re-opened following its closure last night due to Storm Barra.

Welsh Road has also been cleared by Pembrokeshire County Council crews, who are now working at Nolton Haven and Broad Haven where further debris has been reported.

All coastal roads in the south of the county were cleared by 11 amd this morning, including Amroth which was the worst impacted.

Pembrokeshire County Council teams are busy undertaking clearance work on south and west facing coastal roads impacted by Storm Barra as well as responding to trees down and other minor damage.

The Cleddau Bridge is open to all traffic, and the Council’s waste and recycling collections were not affected by its closure early this morning.

All coastal flood alerts and warnings have been removed.

Council Leader, Councillor David Simpson said: “We would like to thank all our operational teams, supervisors, duty officers and office staff as well as partner agencies who have been working hard to respond to and recover from the impact of Storm Barra in Pembrokeshire.

“We are also very grateful to members of the public for reporting hazardous situations or dangerous trees impacting on the network.”
