Two stalwarts of Pembrokeshire swimming have been honoured at the Welsh Swimming Awards in Cardiff recently.

Bob Adams and Keith Thompson both live in Pembroke and are life members of Pembroke & District Amateur Swimming Club and were awarded Swim Wales lifetime achievement awards.

Bob, pictured on the left, has been helping with Pembroke club for well over 30 years and started helping on poolside before turning his talents to officiating. He is an international swimming official and has officiated at many high profile events both in Wales and abroad.

Bob still gives up many hours and many weekends to be on poolside officiating and without this type of dedication, swimming events from county to national level could not take place.

Keith, pictured on the right, started helping Pembroke club in 1989 and has been head coach from 1993. He had a short break from coaching about 14 years ago, but returned and is again the current head coach.

Keith was also the first head coach of the Pembrokeshire Development squad when it was formed around 1996.

Congratulations go to both from Pembroke club for this well deserved honour.
