Pembroke Ladies Probus Club held their annual general meeting and first anniversary lunch, on January 15, at the Cleddau Bridge Hotel, Pembroke Dock.

The 2013 president and founder member Sandra Thompson, opened the meeting, introducing her husband Mac Thompson, who then personally donated and presented Sandra and the club with a president's badge of office.

Sandra began the meeting, reflecting on a very positive first year. Founder members Sandra, Evelyn MacCallum, Dawn Homfray and Monica Vanner, encouraged by their husbands, who belong to the Men's Probus, decided to form a Pembroke Ladies Probus Club just over a year ago. We are now 50 members.

Sandra concluded her address by thanking the present committee for their enthusiasm and hard work in the past year. Officers of the committee then talked of their roles during this time. It was amazing to think again about all the fascinating guests and activities that have been arranged and enjoyed by us all and to look forward to the coming year.

The new president, vice-president and committee were then proposed. Monica Vanner was delighted to be elected as the 2014 president and Dawn Homfray as vice-president. Sandra then presented the president's badge of office to Monica.

The meeting closed and all members enjoyed a beautifully cooked and served lunch at the Cleddau Bridge Hotel.
