The cold Sunday morning was warmed by a fantastic display of running rugby and fantastic handling skills from the Pembroke Under 7s and 8s. A decent crowd cheered both teams throughout with the visiting Haverfordwest team making the best of their low numbers ensuring everyone had a good run out.

Several home attacks came close to crossing the whitewash with Josh and Danny in particular impressing. The pressure turned into tries regularly with Miles and Orrin setting-up one each for the photogenic Max, who seemed able to pick out the cameras before scoring, following in his father's footsteps
The handling and running from the home team was matched only by the determination to tag effectively with Christian, George and Fin impressing defensively right to the final whistle. Not to be outdone, the experienced George broke the line setting-up the pacey Owen to touch down for the second of his tries.
Haverfordwest played their part and contested well in patches, but the experience in depth that Pembroke possess showed as they ran out comfortable winners by eight tries to five.
Coaches Phil Greenwood and Hannah Eynon were both delighted with the performance.
"This was a much-improved performance on last week," they commented. "The skill level has increased significantly over the last few weeks."
Eager to impress the crowd, the Under 8s took to the pitch next, led by the impressive Jasper, who set the standards high from kick-off, creating the opening try for the jinxing and darting Iolo in the corner. Next to join the party was Ieuan who benefited from the strong running and excellent passing from Jay as he ran in the first of his three tries.
Debutante Leonni then demonstrated her potential by setting up Charlie for his try which he took in his typically cool stride. The try of the half came from Lewis as he scored his first this season with a pacey and impressive break up the wing, out-thinking several players to cross just before half-time.
The well-stocked squad allowed for a full change at half time, with all seven players changing over, but continuing to demonstrate the impressively high skill levels as had been seen in the first half.
The energetic Zach ensured that the pressure was maintained as he set-up a try scoring chance for James, who opened his account for Pembroke with his first of the day.
Next to impress was Sam, who set-up 'Big Harry' for the first of his two tries, both combining strong running and swift handling to cut a hole through the defence. Keen not to be left was Brychan who opened a gap for 'Little Harry' to show his undoubted ability and pace to score an exciting try.
The game was finished in style with the classy Taylor showing why he is feared by anyone who stands opposite him by setting-up James for his hattrick and finishing a dominant performance from the 'Scarlet Knights'.
Haverfordwest stuck to their game well, but were out passed, out tagged and out played by a well-drilled and experienced home side that demonstrated skills well beyond their years, resulting in a final score of 12 tries to two.
