On an unseasonably sunny Friday, 34 children from Pembroke Dock Community school set off to Hundleton for the annual Pembroke family of schools cross country competition.
Competing against their peers from the other local schools, boys and girls teams represented all KS2 year groups. They pulled on their school running vests and set off on either two or three laps (depending on their age) of Hundleton community field.
A close finish left the school seven points adrift and second to a strong Lamphey school contingent. However, all the children can be proud of their achievements, as it is surprisingly a long way to run!
For many of the younger children, this was their first taste of competitive cross-country running and some strong performances bodes well for the team's next outing at the Pembrokeshire competition in Oakwood next week! Good luck!
