Special character days being held on Pembroke’s Main Street will in turn benefit a Welsh cancer charity for children.

Saturday (June 19) saw another much loved favourite children’s character - Skye from Paw Patrol make an appearance (thanks to local Kayleigh Kitts) at the town’s Sweet Retreat.

Children, locals and tourists came by to see Skye, have a photo whilst others slowed down the traffic to wave when passing by. Shop owner Abi Roberts and Kayleigh even held a Facebook competition to win a movie night box, with the lucky winner being Lucy Adams and her daughter Darcy.

“With many passing by believing we were raising funds for a charity and looking for a donation bucket, with so many individuals and families wanting to donate, we have decided we will now host a bucket collection and raise funds for LATCH - the Welsh children’s cancer charity, which will be available at all character days!” explained Kayleigh.

“The praise and comments we received were amazing and it was a great day. Every child left smiling with some parents and guardians saying the children have been looking forward to it all week.

The next character day will be held on Saturday, July 3, between 10.30 am and 2.30 pm, with Super Mario and Luigi set to make an appearance.
