Round three of the Pembroke and Pembroke Dock LVA quiz league gave the Station A the chance to set the questions and for the first two rounds it was hard work, but it did get better, as the scores reflect.
Cosh Brewery were the highest scorers on the night, sending the Charlton B home with their tails between their legs. The Alma B travelled to St. Govan's and, somewhat surprisingly, came away soundly beaten, whilst the First and Last entertained the Naval Club, who went home happy with their first win of the campaign.
At the Alma, the A team suffered their first loss of the new season, losing to the visitors form the Oak, but the tightest match of the night was at the Charlton, where the home B team, after swapping the lead with the Station B throughout the rounds with never more than a correct answer between them, finally won the contest on the last question to remain unbeaten and sit alone at the top the league.
They are three points ahead of Cosh Brewery, the only other unbeaten side, the Oak and Alma A.
Results for the round were as follows: Cosh Brewery 88 Charlton A 62; Charlton B 69 Station B 66; St. Govan's 78 Alma B 42; First and Last 50 Naval Club 69 and Alma A 61 Oak 77.
