All tables were taken at this month’s Quiz Night held on March 15 with £223 raised on the evening.

Against stiff competition the worthy winners were: Meg Burrell, Melanie Phillips, Diana Turberville and Pam Evans pictured with Quiz Master Frank Harries.

The lovely buffet was prepared by the ladies of the History Society Committee and this contributes much to the popularity of the Quiz Nights - at only £4 a ticket and as much as you can eat - that surely is great value for money!

A special thank you goes to Frank Harries for standing in as Quiz Master in the absence of Rose Blackburn, and to Des Sinclair for preparing the questions.

The next Quiz Night will take place on May 17.

The Society’s next event will be a talk entitled ‘A Tudor Mystery’ by Father Gildas of Caldey Island.

This will take place at Monkton Church Hall on Saturday, April 6 at 10.30 am and will be accompanied by a Coffee Morning from 10 am.
