Two Pembrokeshire teachers will be taking on a cycling challenge for Parkinson's UK on Sunday, August 10. Colin Barrett, a peripatetic brass instrument teacher for the County Music Service, and Huw Benbow, deputy head at Cleddau Reach VC Primary School, will be joined by Huw's brother-in-law Richard Manning for the challenge. Starting on August 10, they will be cycling for three days around South, West Wales. The route includes a total of over 30,000-feet of climbing (more than the height of Mount Everest!). Huw said: "A close friend of ours was diagnosed recently and this is our way of supporting him and helping in the fight against this cruel condition." Paul Jackson-Clark, director of fundraising at Parkinson's UK, said: "Holding an event like this is a fantastic way to raise vital funds to support our work. As the UK's Parkinson's support and research charity, we're leading the work to find a cure, and we're closer than ever. But our work is totally dependent on donations. We are incredibly grateful to Colin, Huw and Richard, for their support. I hope their challenge will be a huge success and will encourage others to hold their own events."
