Sir, It seems that the PCNPA is guilty of ‘speaking with forked tongue’.

In Tenby, they objected to a car park on the grounds that it would cause traffic congestion. (Tenby Observer, March 16).

In Penally, at a meeting to discuss the proposed imposition of parking charges in the station car park, when it was suggested that cars would park in the village to avoid paying and so cause traffic congestion, a PCNPA spokesman stated forcibly that traffic congestion was ‘outside the remit of the PCNPA and is strictly the responsibility of the Highways Department’!

A case of cake and eat it as long as ‘the Park’s income is maximised’, as the spokesman put it.

Geoff Whitehead,

Penally.
