The Pater Hall in Pembroke Dock has just undergone a major refurbishment. The foyer now sports attractive new ladies and gents facilities and all new disabled facilities. The work also includes a new ramped entrance to the foyer from Lewis Street.

The Pater Hall Community Trust has also added a bar/servery which opens into the main hall to facilitate full refreshment services. The all new foyer also includes a new information/booking office and extra storage areas.

On the first floor, a new catering kitchen has been developed. Also on the first floor is a new control room which will soon house lighting and sound controls for the main stage; it is hoped that in the future the Trust will be installing a cinema screen, further expanding the availability of the Pater Hall to cater for that special function or event, right in the centre of Pembroke Dock.

The Trust has been impressed by the way the project has been managed and the work undertaken by both the architects, Pembroke Design, and contractor, HM Builders.

The scheme has been funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government and is part of a £3.2 million EU-backed scheme to revitalise and restore the rich heritage of Pembroke and Pembroke Dock.

An official opening function is in the planning, but why not go along for a quick peek at the events this weekend, May 9, 10 and 11, when Pater Hall is pleased to be hosting the Battle of the Atlantic Weekend, being organised by Pembroke Dock Sunderland Trust.
