Overgrown trees in areas of Tenby are in line for a trim, councillors heard this week.
Speaking at a recent meeting of the town council, Clr. Mrs. Tish Rossiter mentioned that as the trees on South Parade were due to be cut back this month, there were others in the town in need of cutting.
The areas included - Narberth Road, where the trees were obscuring street lighting sensors; St. Teilo’s school field and onto St. John’s Hill, where trees overhanging the carriageway were reducing the light on adjacent houses; and Bell’s Corner, where trees meeting in the middle of the carriageway were a concern for high-sided vehicles.
At Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council, the town clerk, Andrew Davies, said that some of the work that needed to be carried out could require temporary road closures or traffic lights in some sections, while Pembrokeshire County Council would also be writing to owners of land where some of the trees may fall, to seek permission to carry out the cutting.
