On Saturday (June 12) an ‘Open Garden’ event was held in the gardens of ‘Coombe Dingle’, Stepaside, to raise some money for the RNLI, a much needed and appreciated charity in a coastal area like this.

Because the event was arranged some time ago it was not realised until too late that Wales were playing that day so many who might have come were staying at home.

Nevertheless, the sun shone, and the event was a success raising £400 for the charity.

The garden owners would like to thank all those who volunteered to help including members of the Saundersfoot branch of the RNLI; Rotary Club of Saundersfoot; Ludchurch WI; and their daughter! It couldn’t have happened without them.

Thanks also must go to all who attended and bought plants, cakes, books and jigsaws, or made a donation.

Last but not least a big thank you to Rodda’s ‘Good Deeds’partnership with Tiptree jams for sponsoring the take-away ‘Cream Tea in a Bag’ which was a great success.

If anyone would like to make a donation, but couldn’t visit the garden, please ring 01834 814424.
