Award-winning children’s author Wendy White’s latest book ‘Mamgu’s Campervan and the Knights in Shining Armour’ is available now.
In the book - Betsi Wyn and her grandmother set off for an adventure in Heulwen, the campervan, and find a castle with knights, archers and some dubious medieval cookery.
Wendy’s books are aimed at children from 4 to 10 years old and this is her third book about Betsi Wyn and her grandmother.
“Grandparents are the real heroes in my stories and I love writing fun and humorous books that reflect growing up in Wales – I often find that they’re sent to families with a Welsh connection all around the world,” said Wendy.
‘Welsh Cakes and Custard’ - Wendy’s first book, won the Tir nan-Og Award in 2014 for best English language children’s book with a Welsh dimension.
She also writes for adults under the pen name Sara Gethin, and her debut novel ‘Not Thomas’ was shortlisted for The Guardian’s ‘Not the Booker prize’ last year.
You may have spotted Wendy at a book signing at Tenby Bookshop recently, and you’ll have another chance to meet her when she will be signing copies of all her books at the Narberth Book Fair on Saturday, September 22, where she will also be reading from ’Mamgu’s Campervan’ during the afternoon.
‘Mamgu’s Campervan and the Knights in Shining Armour’ priced at £4.99 is available from The Tenby Bookshop, other independent bookstores, and branches of WHSmith and Waterstones throughout Wales.
