The death occurred suddenly but peacefully at Withybush Hospital on Tuesday, of Mr. Kenneth John Jones, of Sunnyside Farm, Robeston Wathen, Narberth.

Affectionately known as Ken, he was 70.

He was the loving son of Rone and the late Jack, beloved partner of Bethan, dearly loved dad of Lyndon, Christine, Carolyn, Andrew and Mark and respected father-in-law, cherished grandad, much loved brother and brother-in-law.

The death occurred peacefully at his home following a short illness and surrounded by his family of Mr. William John ‘Bud’ Small, of Lord’s Meadow View, Pembroke. He was 78.

Bud and his wife Frankie will also be fondly remembered as the popular licensees of The Cross Saws Inn for many years.

BROADMOOR

After a six year battle of cancer, Mrs. Jean Taylor Morton, passed away peacefully at her home in Broadmoor on Wednesday, December 28, in the presence of her main family members. She was 82.

Jean leaves to mourn her husband Frederic, stepson David, her daughters Jane, Christine, Shirley and Ann (and three son-in-laws), also her brother and his family and her sister Annie.

She was a devoted grandmother of 11 grandchildren and a great grandmother of 4 great grandchildren.

Jean was born in a small ‘end-of-lane’ village called Kentmere, in the Lake District, to the East of Windermere.

She lived on her father’s sheep farm and spending her childhood at school along with helping and working on the farm, which stood her in good-stead of raising and tending her own family. Jean had met her husband and married him in 1958 and they raised the family in the Norton of England.

Some five years following the retirement of her husband, they moved to Saundersfoot with Ann, their youngest daughter, where she and her husband took up various charitable assignments.

She was a working member of ‘Saundersfoot in Bloom’, also carrying out the service of ‘meals-on-wheels’ around the district and she joined the Tenovus team at its outset in Tenby, where she worked voluntarily for a period in excess of 10 years.

Jean moved from Saundersfoot to Broadmoor 10 years ago, following her husband’s 85th and four years later, sadly was found to be suffering a terminal illness which she bravely endured to the end.

The funeral service will be at 1.15 pm at St. Jeffrey and St. Oswald Church, Jeffreyston on Wednesday, January 11, followed by a cremation service at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, Narberth at 2.30 pm.

A funeral tea is being provided for all attending the funeral service, and this will be held at Wisemans Bridge Inn.
