Sir, I write in response to the article titled ‘Back Lane cleared’ published in July 6 edition of the Narberth and Whitland Observer.
I was not impressed with the terminology used by Clr. Meredydd at the town council’s monthly meeting in respect of the above.
I was one of the ‘moaners’ who contacted Clr. Meredydd having discovered a vast quantity of obnoxious smelling, rotting food (that had been deposited by some irresponsible person, despite waste food bags being provided to all households by PCC), on an area of ground in the Back Lane.
Currently, we have rodents in the back lane (evidenced by rodent trap boxes in situ); this food tipping could well exacerbate the situation. Photographs available to substantiate same. ‘Moan’ justifiable?
I was always led to believe that residents of an area could bring their concerns about the environs to their elected councillors and not have them considered as ‘moans.’ Please correct me if I am wrong in my belief.
Ann Morris,
Nestor Square,
Narberth.
