Members of Narberth and District Ladies Probus Club met at Plas Hyfred Hotel, on Friday, for their annual general meeting.

Retiring president, Vania Hunter, presented her report of the club’s varied activities during 2016, all of which had been reported in this newspaper.

Highlights were undoubtedly the visit to Llanelly House and the second trip to Cegin Goedwig in Lampeter for Christmas cookery and floral art demonstrations by talented chef/florist, Gareth Richards.

Some excellent speakers had also entertained and educated members at their monthly meetings.

Vania then formally installed 2016 vice-president, Anne Dalziel, as the new president for 2017, wishing her every success in her new role.

Before taking the chair, Anne presented Vania with a beautiful bouquet, thanking her for her work as president.

Anne continued with the election of her officers who are Hilary Armstrong, vice-president, Sandra Thompson, secretary, Dilys Yea, treasurer, Mair Evans, outings organiser.

Members considered numerous suggestions for speakers and outings which will be finalised at the next meeting on Friday, February 3, at 11 for 11.30 am, at Plas Hyfred Hotel, when guest speaker, Mel Perry, will be welcomed back. Her presentation is entitled ‘Creative Connections with Wales, Ireland and Sweden’.

Guests and new members will be made most welcome.
