On Saturday, Clr. Aaron Carey was elected as Mayor of Pembroke for 2014/15, the 635th Mayor of Pembroke, at the annual meeting held at Pembroke Town Hall. A native of Pembroke, Clr. Carey has been a member of Pembroke Town Council since October 2010, following in the footsteps of his late grandfather, Mr. George Relleen, who was also a councillor with Pembroke Town Council. Married to Natalie, Aaron has two children, Josh and Alice. Following a civic dinner on Saturday, the civic parade was held on Sunday, led by the 948 (Haverfordwest and City of St Davids) Squadron Air Training Corps Band, followed by a service at St. Mary's Church, led by the Rev. Canon Roger Jones. Following his election to office, Clr. Carey said he was 'honoured to be elected Mayor', and during his year in office, will be raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
