Last Saturday, despite the dismal weather and gale force winds, Penally Village Hall Committee held a very successful Christmas Fayre.
The committee would like to thank anyone who took part or came along on the afternoon to support the fayre despite the atrocious weather. It was lovely to see so many people enjoying a cuppa, browsing the stalls and having a chat.
At the beginning of the afternoon, the new parking facility on the land adjacent to the hall was officially opened. The cutting of the tape was performed jointly by one of the oldest residents of the village, Mrs. Mary Ball, who always supports and contributes to village events, and one of the younger supporters of the hall, Master Noah Hughes. Noah is the grandson of Greg and Pauline Grist and Greg is a member of the hall committee. They can be seen in the photo with Mrs. Carol Cavill, vice-chairman of the hall committee.
The parking area was funded by a lottery grant and fund-raising and is a great asset to the hall, both for the disabled and all users of the hall.
Penally Village Hall is used for many clubs, classes, events and functions. A reminder for readers is that a fantastic evening will be held on Friday, December 18, at 7.30 pm, when the Mellstock Band will be performing and, as reported previously, this should be a wonderful evening of entertainment, so do come along (tickets available from Judy Williams on 01834 844467 or 07790463417).
The hall can be seen on Pembrokeshire Halls web site and is available to hire. Booking clerk is Mrs. Mavis Lees 01834 845345.
