The executive committee of Tenby Civic Society are delighted to see installed at the Society’s hilltop viewpoint at Allens View, two bespoke wrought iron benches based on traditional wrought iron designs crafted by metal worker Mike Davies of Manorbier.

These two benches are replacements for two 30 year old sound teak benches recently broken and burnt by vandals; the executive committee were concerned to avoid the prospect of further damage, hence replacement with low maintenance, highly robust, but attractive and comfortable alternative locally crafted alternative.

One bench commemorates the Society’s 50th anniversary, the other is dedicated to Mr. ‘Jack’ and Mrs. Davies; Jack was a former member and chairman of the society.

One of the benches destroyed had been donated in Mrs. Davies memory, so the new bench was re-dedicated with family permission to both of their memories.
