New Chairman Andrew Thomas welcomed Matt and thanked him and National Community Officer Christopher Bush for driving all the way from Essex to celebrate a fantastic year for Narberth and Whitland.
“It is a great honor to be elected as Chairman of such a fantastic club,” said Andrew.
“I joined Round Table when I was 18 and it has been great fun, organising events to raise money for local charities.
“I would like to thank James Elkins for his hard work over the last year as Chair, and I look forward to working with Vice Chairman Lewis Owen throughout the coming year.
“We have some fantastic events coming up this year so keep an eye on our Facebook page for information on what is coming up.
“I am also very proud and honored to have my dad as President of Narberth and Whitland.
“I would like to thank all the table members past and present from Area 43 that supported the evening,” he added.
President Adrian Thomas said: “It is a huge privilege to be President of Narberth and Whitland the same time as my son is the Chairman.
“I was a member of Table before Andrew joined and I am proud to see him follow in my footsteps becoming chairman.
“Even before he became a member he would always be coming to meeting and helping at events, I wish him the best of luck.”
Past Chairman James, thanked Narberth and Whitland current members and honoree members for their efforts over the last year and wished Andrew all the best for his year ahead as chairman.
Vice Chair Lewis Owen said: “He is looking forward to the future with Narberth and Whitland with exciting times ahead with new events coming up and new members joining us.
“It is great to be a part of a fantastic organisation doing so much for the local community.”
The evening was extra special as newest member James Adams was inducted in by National Vice President Matt Eaton.
Members also congratulated Lewis Gravell who became Area 43 Chairman on the same night.
Matt said: “Round Table is an organisation for young men who come together in friendship and community fundraising.
“The average age of a tabler in Narberth and Whitland is 25 years old – and these young guys are organising Santa Sleighs and Fireworks that raise direct money for the local community.
“In a world where young people are often criticised, it’s organisations like Round Table that offer an alternative narrative, that young people are dedicated to improving their community and themselves.
Matt added: “It was a pleasure to join new Round Table Chairman Andrew Thomas and he will be instrumental in growing Round Table in Narberth and Whitland.
“Locally and nationally, Round Table is growing as more and more young men recognise the fun and lifelong friendships that are built through our movement.
“Andrew is passionate about Round Table and it was also a huge pleasure to learn about the impact that Round Table has in Narberth and Whitland.
“If you want to join the best young men’s club in the world, then contact Andrew,” he added.
