During the pandemic, Dogs Trust has reported an “overwhelming” number of requests to adopt canines to keep the nation company during lockdown, with 25 per cent more dogs rehomed in comparison to this time last year.

And with the nation spending more time with their precious pets, this invaluable time has given everyone the opportunity to appreciate how lucky we are to have our furry friends in our lives.

So, whether it’s a new family member who’s also become your working from home buddy (even joining your Zoom calls), or the shadow you’ve always had keeping your spirits up, Safestyle UK is celebrating National Dog Day on August 26 with a nationwide #DoginWindow photo competition for all dog owners to share their best snaps of their furry friends.

Have you got a snap of your pooch poking its head out of the window to greet the postman? Or eagerly waiting for your return after a whole 5 minutes putting the bins out? All entries are welcome!

As part of the competition, Safestyle will be giving away a £500 Love2shop voucher to one lucky winner (and their pooch).
