Narberth Castle Lodge of the RAOB recently held their first fundraiser of 2019. The Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes (RAOB) are one of the largest fraternal organisations in the United Kingdom.

This year, the Narberth Castle Lodge have nominated a new fundraising committee headed up by Brother Christopher Walters and Brother Eric Bates with one goal in mind - to raise awareness and as much money as they can for local charities and charitable causes.

On Saturday, March 23, the branch held a coffee morning with a tombola, cake sale, raffle and a bowls competition which had a fantastic turnout from members of the public from in and around Narberth.

Thanks to local donations from fellow Buffs, including a £50 hamper donated from Blakemore Retail Spar, St Clears, the branch was able to raise a total of £430 for local causes.

It has been decided that this money will remain in a fundraising pot until the end of the year when hopefully more events will be held, and a large amount of money donated to various charities in and around Narberth.

Speaking on behalf of the Buffs – fundraising committee member Christopher Walters said: “On behalf of everyone at the RAOB club – thank you to everyone who attended. Our aim is to raise awareness of the Buffs and what we do for local charities. Not many people know who we are, and what we do in the local community, so we encourage everyone to attend future charity events we put on and get to know us further.

“Our next planned event is on Sunday, May 19, a family car treasure hunt - entry £5 per car – starting from outside the club. Prizes TBC.”
