A YEAR ago, Harvey’s Players presented their first murder mystery at Carew Castle. Of course, it wasn’t the first murder mystery for the Players, but it was a first in the incomparably atmospheric surroundings of an authentic medieval hall.
“It was a team effort,” said June Howell, who writes and acts for the group. “Pembrokeshire’s talented early music group, La Volta contributed enormously to the occasion, as well as Griggles costume hire in Tenby, not to mention the castle staff, who worked tremendously hard decorating the Lesser Hall, and feeding the log fire, as well as over 70 guest ‘sleuths’.
And next Friday, August 4, more dastardly deeds will be committed! This time guests will be transported back to the 15th century, to the time of Sir Rhys Ap Thomas, although the great man himself will be inexplicably absent when murder is committed under his very roof. Would-be sleuths are invited again to use their little grey cells to find out ‘whodunit,’ amid interrogations which inevitably result in hilarity and uproar, as sleuths and suspects run rings around each other.
Murder at the Midsummer Feast on Friday, August 4, guarantees an eclectic mix of fun, food and forensic frolics. Come as you are, wear a mask, or, if you have them - your best Tudor robes. 7 for 7.30 pm. Tickets £18. To book, please ring 01646 651782 or visit www.carewcastle.com
