Economy Minister Edwina Hart has thanked Lord Bourne, of Aberystwyth, for his work as chair of the Haven Waterway Enterprise Zone and the Murco Task Force. Lord Bourne has had to tender his resignation from both panels following his appointment as a Government Whip in the House of Lords. The Minister said: "It is with regret that I accept Lord Bourne's necessary resignation as chair of the Haven Waterway Enterprise Zone Board and from the Murco Task Force. I would like to thank him for the work he has undertaken which I'm sure will lay the foundations for future economic growth in Pembrokeshire." Lord Bourne said: "I am very sad to be leaving my chairmanship of the Haven Waterway Enterprise Zone and the Murco Task Force but this is unavoidable given my new position in the UK Government. "In my two years as chair of the Enterprise Zone, I have been encouraged by the progress made in creating and safeguarding jobs, helping businesses and developing training in the zone. I am confident that the Enterprise Zone will continue to grow. Together with the recent conditional purchase of the Milford Haven refinery I am confident of a bright future for the Pembrokeshire economy." An announcement on the new chair for the Haven Waterway Enterprise Zone Board and the Murco Task Force will be made shortly.
