The first ever live music event is to take place at the Really Wild Food and Countryside Festival in St. David's this weekend thanks to funding from Milford Haven Port Authority.

The festival is now in its seventh year and offers visitors two days of culinary delights, rural traditions, storytelling and countryside fun along with a variety of exhibitions today (Friday) and tomorrow (Saturday).

New for 2011, musical 'try sessions' will be run tomorrow by Mike Chant from the band Green Lines which will give people the opportunity to try their hand at drumming and the didgeridoo.

The festival will draw to a close with the first 'Really Wild Evening' featuring local bands and groups, soloists and dancing, including Slung Together, Green Lines, The Lovely Somethings and Chloe Matharu.

Festival director Brian Powdrill said: "It would not have been possible to stage this musical event without the generous financial support of Milford Haven Port Authority. The first 'Really Wild Evening' will feature local talent, plenty of freshly cooked local foods and drinks and will be suitable for the whole family."

Milford Haven Port continuously provides support to a wide variety of community events through its Community Investment Fund.

In August, the port will once again help to promote musical enjoyment though its sponsorship of the eighth Annual Fiddle Festival of Wales, taking place at the National Trust Stackpole Centre from August 31-September 4
