Mayor of Pembroke Dock, Clr. Peter Kraus, said it was an absolute pleasure to be able to join in the New Year's Day Charity Swim at Saundersfoot.

He continued: "I invited the Mayor of Milford Haven and consort Guy Woodham and Colin Sharp to come along as well and thankfully they were up for it. They were brilliant.

"My chosen charity was HOPE, which is based in Neyland, and the reason I chose this one was because in July last year I visited the centre and was amazed what therapies were being done there and was able to speak to the people who had illnesses like MS, Parkinsons, strokes, heart conditions and many others.

"The positive answers I was getting back was fantastic and I feel that this centre is doing so much to help them,

"I will be giving my full backing to help them and let us hope that the centre can get bigger and bigger and serve more people to save them suffering. May I wish them every success in the future."

Ken Bromley as chairman of HOPE, would like to thank the following who took part in the Saundersfoot New Year's Day Swim 2013: Peter, Guy, Colin, Helen and Paul, also Bob, Shirley, Ashley and Richard, who were box collectors on the day.
