Pembroke and District Male Voice Choir made their last appearance in 2011, suitably bedecked in Christmas ties and headgear by serenading the residents of 'The Haven' and 'Ashdale' Retirement Homes.

These are always rewarding visits for both parties and often bring out spontaneous humour in some form or other. The best laugh this Christmas was when the chairman of the Male Voice, Frank Harries, was relating how the choir had been founded in 1952 and had been a going concern for almost 60 years, when a lady in the front row at Ashdale said: "So that's why you're all looking so tired." As the old saying goes, 'Collapse of Stout party'.

Along with these rib splitting moments, it is a joy and privilege for the choir to have the opportunity to make these annual visits.
