After a hugely successful Narberth Civic Week held back in July - the event’s committee held their annual cheque presentation evening earlier this month.
This year’s event had a complete overhaul with the Narberth Civic Week committee appointing Christopher Walters as the new chairman.
Chris who is currently also the town’s Mayor, balanced both roles durnig July.
During the evening he had the great honour to donate the money raised at Narberth Civic Week.
For this year, the Civic Week committee had three volunteer collectors who went around on Carnival day bucket collecting.
They were Amelie’s Rainbow, Narberth RFC Juniors and Narberth Brownies.
Civic Week was therefore proud to donate from their bucket collections - Amelie’s Rainbow (£52), Narberth RFC Jnr’s (£52), and Narberth Brownies (£140).
In respect of other donations, the Committee made the following financial donations to local charities and organisations including: Cry (Cardiac Risk In The Young) - £100, Narberth Scout Hut - £100, and Narberth First Responders - £200.
Brochure competition winner ‘Carlie-Jayne Dutton’ was also presented with a meal voucher for winning the ‘Know It All Quiz’ written by committee member Donna Harding with the prize kindly donated by Shaad Indian Restaurant.
Chairman Chris Walters said: “A huge Thank you and congratulations to everyone who were presented with donations tonight and to our brochure winner.
“Narberth Civic Week is all about giving something back to the community and surrounding areas of Narberth.
“This year we had some very worthy recipients of donations and no doubt the monies donated will go towards great things.
“Civic Week is made up of only a small number of people who give their free time to make sure everyone has a fantastic week of events including a brilliant carnival,” continued Chris.
“I must thank everyone who attended an event in Civic Week, but also my fantastic Committee who have supported both myself and the entire week.
“I encourage everyone to visit our Facebook Page and to keep an eye out for the date of our AGM which will be published next month.
“Congratulations to everyone again!” he added.
