Vaughans electrical store has generously donated a plasma TV to help train future Pembrokeshire lifesavers at the RNLI Area Support Centre in Haverfordwest.

Vaughans staff regularly see the lifeguards meet and train at the neighbouring RNLI building and wanted to join in and play their part to help save lives at sea.

Even though the lifeguards don't patrol Pembrokeshire beaches over the winter, the charity's lifesavers are still busy as they prepare their equipment and train new lifeguards ready for the summer season.

Chris Rigby, RNLI lifeguard supervisor, said: "We are very grateful to Vaughans for their kind donation to the RNLI. The TV will be a great benefit for the charity as we train new lifeguards over the winter, ready to save lives and assist the public on Pembrokeshire beaches next year.

"The RNLI takes great pride in providing the highest level of training to ensure that the lifeguards can offer the best service to the public on Pembrokeshire beaches. Recruitment and inductions will be starting soon, and Vaughans donation will play a key part in the lifeguards training."

Adam Davies, Vaughans senior manager, said: "Vaughans is a family run business that is proud to support the RNLI and the great work they do."
