An art exhibition, which shows it's never too late to learn, has gone on display at Pembroke Dock Library.

The showcase features the work of students, who have attended Learning Pembrokeshire's art classes at the Pembroke Dock Community Learning Centre.

The adult learners, who range in age from their early twenties to their '80s, have been tutored in various genres - including drawing, oils, pastels and watercolours - over the past year.

Also on display at the exhibition are pieces of work by students attending the centre's traditional stained glass and pottery classes.

The spring art exhibition, which runs throughout May, was opened by Clr. Ken Rowlands, cabinet member for education, on Tuesday (May 7).

"This is a celebration of the learning and skills which students have acquired by attending these classes," he said.

"The work on display is testament to their hard work and also the effort and patience of their tutor."

To mark Adult Learner Week (May 18-26), the centre will also be hosting special taster sessions in stained glass, chinese brushwork, jewellery and felt making - as well as learn-to-sew and portraiture and pastel painting sessions.

There will also be a one-off cultural quiz on Tuesday 21st about Spain, France, Germany and Wales - whose languages are taught at the centre.

The library gallery is open Mondays and Fridays, 9.30 am to 7 pm, Tuesday to Thursday 9.30 am to 5 pm and Saturdays 9.30 am to midday.

Learning Pembrokeshire is Pembrokeshire County Council's adult learning service.
