Sir, I would take this opportunity to thank the residents of Saundersfoot who attended the recent Saundersfoot Community Council meeting and who also wrote to the Tenby Observer.
I fully support Mr. Lightwood’s call that a ‘realistic’ Local Plan is needed, the current ‘draft plan’ consultation is exactly that opportunity for residents of Saundersfoot to bring the local dimension to the local proposals.
Work on the replacement Local Development Plan has been underway for some time. There has been a series of consultations, press notices and press releases to raise awareness. Workshops were also held with community and town councils at the early stages of plan preparation to help raise awareness locally. The authority also sought to advise community and town councils of impending consultations.
The plan (known as Local Development Plan 2) will replace the current adopted Local Development Plan in 2021.
The draft plan was agreed for publication on March 28, 2018, with a statutory consultation period starting on Friday, April 6, with the authority extending the six-week period to eight weeks.
The deadline for consultation responses is 4.30 pm on June 1, 2018, following this a report will be prepared by the Park Authority with an independent inspection by a Welsh Government appointed Planning Inspector.
Saundersfoot Community Council will be hosting a meeting to gather the communities thoughts and concerns at 7 pm on Tuesday, May 14, at the Regency Hall, in advance of collating its response to the consultation.
Phil Baker,
County Councillor,
Saundersfoot Ward.
